Tamiya F-14A Tomcat

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. This 1/48 scale Tamiya F-14A Tomcat represents one of the finest kits in my collection. The fit and finish straight from the box is exceptional, requiring minimal filler work. I added aftermarket cockpit details from Eduard and used Alclad II metallics for the exhaust nozzles.

The variable sweep wing mechanism actually functions on this kit, which presented an interesting challenge for painting. I chose to depict the aircraft in the markings of VF-84 Jolly Rogers, arguably the most iconic Tomcat squadron.

Revell Bismarck

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. The Revell 1/700 Bismarck is a classic kit that has been in production for decades. While the detail is not up to modern standards, it builds into an impressive model with some careful work.

I used the Revell Germany boxing which includes a photo-etch fret for railings and ladders. The hull was finished with oils and enamels to represent a heavily weathered wartime appearance. The sea base is sculpted from two-part epoxy putty.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. The Academy 1/35 M1A1 Abrams is an excellent kit representing the US Army’s main battle tank. This build depicts a vehicle from the 3rd Infantry Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Extensive use of AK Interactive chipping fluids and hairspray technique was employed to represent the heavy wear typical of desert operations. The tracks are individual link and length from Fruul Model.
